The Library provides different services to meet the information needs of library users.

1) Circulation Service:

Circulation is the process that facilitates the loaning of library materials. Members of the faculty, staff, fellows and research scholars on their joining and students on their admission to the institute become member of the library. All library members can borrow library material as per their borrowing privileges.

Borrowing Service

Libraries extend borrowing services to the registered members (faculty, students and staff) governed by the borrowing privileges, rules and policies. The Library materials can be borrowed and returned at the circulation desks at both of the campuses. The materials on reserve, Audio/Videos, text books, journals, reference books, and CDs/DVDs cannot be issued. This is important to understand that any material borrowed from the library is subject to recall.

Renewal Service

The Library materials borrowed by any member can be renewed or re-issued, two times at maximum. Users can send a renewal or re-issued request online.

Reservation Service

Library materials borrowed by other members can be reserved at the circulation desk of either campus. Users can also reserve books online.

2) Searching Assistance:

In case an item is not located on the shelf, inquiry can be made at the circulation desk. A search will then be initiated and the user will be notified when the required item is found. The found item will be held at the Circulation Desk for two days for the user to pick up.

3) Reference Services:

A major function of the library is to provide information. The library has a Reference Section that contains materials frequently used for that purpose. The materials are not circulated outside the library and are identified with “REF” at the beginning of the call number. Materials in the reference section of the library consist of Encyclopedia, Dictionary, Thesaurus, Directory, Handbook, Almanac, Manual, Yearbook, Atlas etc.

Reference materials should be current, accurate, easy to use, and relevant. These factors are to be considered while selecting them.

4) Book Bank Services:

The Book Bank Section of the library facilitates students. It provides text books to Library members for a semester. All the students and staff members who have their library cards are entitle to draw books from book bank.

5) Multimedia Service:

Library has a fully equipped multimedia Centre which is located at ground floor of the library building. The collection of Centre includes latest multimedia resources which help library users in their studies. This Centre is equipped with the technologies which enable users in utilizing the multimedia resources. The Centre provides viewing of audiovisual material on latest viewing devices.
