1) General Collection:
Library has a collection of more than 13000 books in print forms related to the academic programs. These books cover all the major subjects catering to needs of students, researchers and faculty members. For example: Media Science, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Law, Bio-Science, Social Science, English, and Education.
Library also has a book bank section, in this section Almost 3000 books have been made available to the users.
2) Reference Collection:
A significant number of current reference sources are available on reference shelves. This collection also includes a wide variety of Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopedia, atlases, Bibliographies, Hand books, Maps, Gazetteers. The Material housed in reference and ready reference collections cannot be borrowed, rather can only be consulted within the library.
SZABIST own publication including Journals of Independent research (JISR), National Research Conference Proceedings (NRC), Thesis, Dissertations, Newsletters, Annual Reports, Graduate Directories and SZABIST Handbooks.
SZABIST library also have special Bhutto Collection in the memory of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. It has Books which relates with Bhutto and his family.
SZABIST’s Projects and Reports
Library is housing SZABIST faculty and students research works, their Independent Study Reports and Thesis Reports are housed separately in boxes.
3) Periodicals Collection:
The Library owns the periodical section which displays the latest journals, magazines and newspapers. Library subscribes to more than 54 print journals and magazines whereas more than 5000 electronic journals are available through various online data bases. The library has also subscribed a wide range of English and Urdu leading National and International newspapers. Library also maintains three months previous record of the newspapers for reference and research purpose.
The current issues of Journals and magazines are displayed on special shelves. Back volumes of theses periodicals are bound and shelved separately.
4) Multimedia Collection:
SZABIST Library has more than 400 DVD’s and CD’s. This educational material can be utilized within library premises. For this purpose, multimedia Centre is equipped with latest technologies.
5) Electronic Databases:
The library has access to a wide range of electronic resources including e-databases, e-journals and e-books accessible through internet, campus wide network and from the library terminals. A list of all databases/journals is available at library website.
